For our next Learn My Art workshop on Tuesday April 26th we’ll invite PSU professor Allison Higginbotham to lead a discussion about the Sociological Implications of Vampires. Take a stab at biting questions such as “Should vampires qualify for citizenship?”, and “What would be the limitations of accepting vampires into society?”

PSU film major Higginbotham is a part of Portland State’s Chiron Studies program where students are invited to “propose and instruct official courses not already offered in the school’s curriculum.” Higginbotham’s high-profile winter 2011 course, “Exploring Buffy the Vampire Slayer” examined, among other things, the metaphors behind the monsters.

Project Grow’s Learn my Art is a free school that invites individuals to share their passions, curiosities, their art the last Tuesday of every month.

We’ll see you there.
